Rachel came to Rescue from a breeding situation. She has a grade 5 heart murmur and no teeth. That does not keep her from loving to eat as she performs a very cool dance when she knows its mealtime.
Rachel could not go up or down any stairs when she came to Rescue. But she has learned and can go up an entire flight of stairs in her foster's home. Going down is a bit frightening, so she must either be carried down -- not an easy task since she weighs about 22 pounds - or given her own sweet time to navigate the stairs.
Rachel was reunited in her foster home with Sarah, who was from the same breeder as she was. They were happy to see each other and curl up on the couch together most of the day. They even take turns using each other as a pillow.
Rachel is very friendly and loves humans of all ages. She can walk on a leash but prefers to be carried around. A fenced yard would be her preference since her legs are still weak and she does have a significant heart murmur. She is on pimobendan and several heart supplements.
Rachel is being fostered in Northern Virginia. You must live within a two hour drive of the foster to be considered for adoption.
