I came into rescue as part of a very large surrender in the Pacific Northwest
I am being fostered in the mid-Atlantic region, I have had quite a journey since being placed with my fosters. I was spayed and had a dental cleaning because my teeth were pretty gross. I was treated for ear and urinary tract infections but am all better now.
I have learned basic obedience. I know to come when called. I walk well on a leash, I know sit, stay, go to my crate for meals, and am making progress on lie down.
I enjoy playing in the yard with my foster siblings, I do like to snuggle, hanging out inside or outside with my foster family, which means I don’t want to be without someone more than a maximum of 4 hours a day. I do great in the car. I still need a bit more training to perfect everything, so I want my new family to agree to take some classes with me to cement our bond together.
I like to play fetch, and I have been known to chase after a squirrel or two, so I need to have a securely fenced yard to be able to safely play and run off leash. My foster thinks a home without cats would be best.
I would be ok with a family with kids over 12, because they can hear and understand what I have been through in my life; and will be able to give me their time and help with my training, along with the rest of the family, to let me become a great family dog.
