Lucy in the Mid South

Hi! My Name Is Lucy in the Mid South

We're happy to tell you that Lucy in the Mid South has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Lucy is a loving black and tan girl with an adventurous side. She is about 5 years old and is good with other dogs.  She would probably enjoy being an only dog so she can have all of your love! She will climb into any lap she is offered and may even try to give you a hug by laying her head in the crook of your neck. Lucy sleeps in her crate although she would love to share your bed. She does well with children over 10.  She is housebroken and can be left uncrated during the day. She does like to talk and will let you know when other dogs walk by the house. She also has an “inside bark” she uses to let you know when she wants dinner or to go outside. She has only started playing with toys and does not fully understand how they work yet, but she enjoys carrying them around. Lucy does have a strong prey drive and likes to chase birds and squirrels in the yard so a fenced yard would be ideal for her (electric fences are not allowed). Lucy has not been tested with cats but her prey drive might be a problem for a home with cats.

Lucy enjoys long walks.  She is a sturdy girl with a larger frame than some Cavaliers, although her ideal weight is only around 21 pounds. She is great in the car and simply curls up to rest while you drive. She has shown some signs of food allergies and would do best on a diet that does not include chicken or beef.

Lucy is being fostered in the Mid South (Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky).  To be considered for her forever home, we prefer you live within a two-hour drive of eastern Tennessee.  Residents of northwestern North Carolina or northern Georgia would be considered.  You must be willing to come meet her and not live too far for the foster to bring her to see your home. We do not transport dogs.
