Joshua came to Rescue with a large intake of dogs in the Pacific Northwest. He loves to walk on a leash and sniff. He loves other dogs and people!. He is doing well with potty training.
Joshua was neutered and had a dental and now sports sparkling white teeth!. He came in under weight so we are working on putting a few pounds on him.
Joshua would do well with other dogs and a large yard to run in, but it’s not a requirement if his new home plans to take him on several walks every day. He is young and needs an active family for his forever home. Homes with electric fences are not considered.
His foster reports: At this point in time, Joshua: 1) knows his name 2) comes when called 3) knows the word crate and goes to it 4) eats in his crate 5) sleeps in his crate 6) walks very well on the leash 7) potties in the backyard and on leash walks 8) knows the command sit (we are working on stay) 9) is happy, playful, and energetic 10) for new situations, people and dogs, must be introduced mindfully and purposefully , at this point, his reaction to novelty is unpredictable 11) rides in the crate in the car with no problems 12) loves people 13) has learned to behave in the bath (reached that milestone this week!!!!) 14) has no stomach issues or poop issues (I feed him The Hills Science Diet sensitive stomach) .
Joshua is being fostered in Virginia, so you must live in that state to be considered for adoption. We require back and forth visits between the dog and the potential adopters and we do not ask our volunteers to spend a lot of time on the road.
