Hi, I’m Lovey. I came to Rescue from a shelter in Michigan. They found me as a stray and no one ever claimed me. I am an odd color for a Cavalier, all black. That just makes me very special! I have a high intensity personality. My foster mother calls me a spitfire.
I get along really well with my four foster siblings, all cavaliers. Thank goodness one of them is a puppy as she is the only one that can play with me. I tire my older sisters out pretty quickly. I love to run! So I will need a nice-sized fenced yard to play in. No town house yards. No electric fences. I would run through that the very first day!
I just started obedience training. I love to greet all the other dogs, but people scare me. My forever family will have to commit to continuing my obedience classes. That’s a requirement.
I would prefer another young dog as a companion. If I’m the only dog, my human would have to be around all the time to entertain and play with me. I am crate trained, but I don’t like being in there for long. So I need a forever home with humans there most of the time.
I am being fostered in the Mid Atlantic (Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, DC). You must live in one of those states to be considered for my forever family. I must meet with you several times so that my foster mother can make sure we are a perfect fit. And remember, I must have a fenced yard! I look forward to meeting you.
